ALANA KAIRAOI


Fitness and health have played an essential role in my personal journey and life in Roxburgh, significantly enhancing both my physical and mental well-being.
During my time at Roxburgh Area School, I developed a passion for Netball and Squash. After moving to Hamilton to further pursue my Squash career, I was fortunate to receive coaching from some of New Zealand's top squash experts. Their guidance helped me achieve A1 grade and secure a Top 8 finish at the New Zealand National Women's Squash Tournament for two consecutive years.
This experience solidified my commitment to fitness and health, and reinforced the belief that improvement is always possible. If you don’t try, growth becomes difficult. With my competitive sports background and ongoing professional development, I am eager to help others unlock their potential and achieve their fitness goals.

Fitness and health have been an integral part of my lifestyle, instilled by my family, and continue to shape my journey and mindset, contributing to my overall well-being.
I have been fortunate to compete at a representative level in Athletics, Rugby, and Rugby Sevens. Some of my proudest sporting achievements include being part of the Under 21 New Zealand University Rugby team, the New Zealand Secondary Schools Condor Rugby Sevens team, and the Waikato Rugby Sevens team.
Looking back, I truly appreciate the training and expert advice that helped me achieve my goals and elevate my performance. As I transition into my Masters sports years, I’ve also learned the importance of longevity. That’s why, with the team at Hub Fitness, we provide effective classes and experiences designed to help you keep moving and enjoy the activities you love, no matter where you are on your fitness journey.

As teachers at the local rural school, we wanted to bring anatomy and exercise physiology to life in a gym setting. With the nearest commercial gym located in Alexandra, access was a challenge. There was no space at the school to build a gym equipped with the necessary cardio and weight machines, and after commuting to another town ourselves for gym access, we knew it was time for a change. That’s when we decided to create a dedicated exercise space right here in Roxburgh.
What began as a vision to benefit our students quickly grew into something much bigger—a fitness resource for the entire community. That’s how Hub Fitness came to life—a HUB designed to serve everyone.
We’re passionate about the incredible benefits a gym can offer, and we truly believe a gym should be a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all. Our motto is simple: create a HUB for everyone. We invite you to experience it for yourself and take the first step toward achieving your fitness goals.
